2006 – Les Milles (Memorial)
DescriptionThe project is the fruit of the competition for the arrangement of the Camp des Milles that saw so many people vowed to deportation and death. Yet another project whose very original approach played tricks on us. We wanted to create a very big dialog between the building itself (old cement Lafarge industry) and its tragic story. After brushing up against nomination (according to rumour leaking from the jury), we were told that we were second. Today, our deception is vast at the sight of an emotionless project, a place of endless reading, a place that wanted to develop the same exhaustiveness as in the Berlin memorial, at the risk of drawing the visitor in too much information…
